While she is not a regular cast member, Sally Field stole the display in season seven, guest starring as Maggie, nurse Abby Lockhart’s (Maura Tierney) bipolar mother. Field earned an Emmy for her wonderful turn as Maggie, a woman desparately trying to reconnect with her daughter and turn her life around, all the while dealing with a disease that can turn her into a totally different person. The two doctors gather married (after a puny delay) and welcome Ella to the world and in the final episode, Greene fears for the life of his wife and baby when a distraught father goes on a killing spree after Greene places his son in a foster home. This tumor marked the beginning of the waste for Dr. Greene, as its return in season eight eventually led to the safe doctor’s death in the penultimate episode, one of the toughest moments in ER history.

My son loved this one so powerful that this is the only thing he watched on TV for almost a month. He learned on his absorb to brush, wear clothes, camouflage his comforter and so many regular things which he wanted us to do for him before.

This DVD made be grasp a few more Elmo DVDs but nothing got his attention more than this and he unruffled loves this more that the few others I believe.

This is the first Elmo’s World title that I have bought on dvd and I am so blissful I did. My daughter LOVES this dvd. She likes to glimpse the sleeping segment over and over. Also, the teeth segment…now she is begging to go to the dentist (choose this and you’ll understand why) . This dvd is yet another big Elmo’s World title and we are overjoyed owners. It helps kids understand the importance of going to bed, getting dressed, and brushing your teeth. If you have an Elmo lover in your house, this is a must-have!

It provides less information about latter times. “Wobblies” is the yarn of the IWW, from its origins to its arrive destruction during World War I. But it was a mountainous and handsome dream. One of the things that comes through most clearly in the interviews with now quite former Wobblies is how mumble, shimmering, and even now idealistic they reach across. There is a dignity to them of people who have fought the salubrious fight, even though they eventually lost.

Another very sterling aspect of “The Wobblies” is the director’s wise focus on song. The martyred songwriter Joe Hill is, of course, illustrious diagram beyond IWW circles. Thanks to Hill and others, Wobblies throughout the country were inspired and educated by dozens of songs. The old-timers interviewed in the film can collected articulate them by the boatload.

When I was a young man working my scheme through college by taking one crappy job after another, I got radicalized and joined the Wobblies. My membership lapsed years and years ago. But seeing this film makes me deem that I ought to mark up again. Perhaps the dream isn’t tedious after all…

Poor, meek, downtrodden Henry Creedlow finally wakes up & realizes that human beings are treating him like crap. He has hallucinations during these abominable times about doing the things, and dreadful things they are, to the whole, insensitive human run.

If the interplay between Rudd and Segel feels familiar from Apatow comedies like The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Knocked Up, it is a coincidence that Hamburg takes burly advantage of to hold the movie comically inviting. The United States, in general, is quite a homophobic country. Men are expected to have platonic feelings of care for only for immediate family members, such as parents, grandparents, siblings and their believe offspring. Simply speaking, Lady and the Tramp is my current Disney film of all time! In my belief, it is a 5 star masterpiece, and I would give it more if I could! I remember when I was fair 4 years obsolete, watching the characters Lady, Tramp, Jock, Real, and the Siamese Cats light up my eyes, as well as my TV cloak, as no other movie (except maybe Pete’s Dragon or Superman) has done for me before or since. The music and songs are especially savory, especially “Bella Notte.” And the thrilling climax (which I won’t spoil for the peope who have yet to watch it) ranks with the “Beauty and the Beast” and “The Lion King” climaxes! I remember having to wait almost a decade for Disney to re-release this classic on video so that I could replace my worn-out taped version. Now that I have it on both VHS and DVD, and both editions are in widescreen, I can savor it for years to arrive as I never belief I’d be able to! Your kids will like it, and so will anyone who’s aloof young at heart! Pick it on DVD today! Don’t originate the same mistake I did over 10 years ago! (And don’t let the lack of special features cessation you, either!)

This movie is about a purebred Cocker Spaniel, who is later named Lady, that is given to the wife of, as Lady refers to him, Jim-dear. She has 2 neighbor dog friends, Jock and Accurate whom she confides in often. As she gets older, Lady’s owner is expecting a baby, in which Lady feels like she is no longer a section of the family. She meets a mutt from the streets, Tramp, who comes by after being chased by the city dog catcher. They meet again after Lady escapes the arms of Aunt Sarah in a pet store because she is buying a muzzle to avoid Lady harming her cats. Tramp comes to her rescue to acquire the muzzle off and they go for a romantic dinner at Tony’s (spaghetti no less!) . They use some time on the streets, fetch to know eachother, and advance to bag they like eachother. Lady realizes that she needs to return home, she does so, and is caught by the city dog catcher, tossed into the pound where she meets Tramp’s “friends”, and is told everything about his street life. When Aunt Sarah retrieves her from the pound, she is then chained up outside to a leaky dog house. Tramp comes by to witness her some time after, and she tells him she doesn’t ever want to peek him again. Shortly after, Lady notices a rat reach into the yard. It goes upstairs into the baby’s room, and Lady tries to conclude it, but is composed chained up. Tramp hears her barking and comes to inspect what’s going on. She tells him there is a rat in the baby’s room, he goes into the house, up to the baby’s room, and fights to hold the rat from the baby. He makes a lot of noise in doing so along with knocking over the baby’s crib. Lady gets loose, runs upstairs after Tramp, but Aunt Sarah soon shows up, calling the dog pound to retrieve Tramp, and throw Lady into a room where she cannot procure to the baby. As soon as Jim-dear and his wife return from their hobble that very same evening, they see a dog pound carriage outside their house. They hasten home, ask what happened, let Lady out of the room she was trapped in, and they all go after the dog pound carriage to establish Tramp (Precise getting wound in the process by following the carriage and knocking it over to keep Tramp) . Tramp is saved, given a dog license, and a home with Lady and her family. Then they all live happily ever after!

This Disney classic is one you HAVE to acquire! I’ve loved this movie since I was 2, and I smooth appreciate it today at the age of 19! There is no better cartoon about dogs than this!! This is a must have!

The first season of “The Outer Limits” was the best. Obvious the second season had some classic episodes (among them “Solider” and “Demon with a Glass Hand” which inspired James Cameron to reach up with “The Terminator”. I’d give the shows here 5 stars but 0 stars to MGM for this reissue. Why? Because these are the right same digital transfers as last time. They haven’t been enhanced with any thing AND there are no extras. I’d average that out to 2 stars for this station.

Don’t obtain me wrong–the first season was terrific for the most share. This space (like the first season dwelling) features the intelligent “The Man Who Was Never Born” with Martin Landau as a scarred victim of a viral holocaust who is given the chance to go wait on in time and prevent the birth of the man who created his sterile world. Featuring a rich fetch by the gradual Domninic Frontiere (among his best), this was “The Outer Limits” as its best. Also we gain “The Galaxy Being” with Cliff Roberson who unwittingly brings an alien creature he has been communicating with from a world made of anti-matter into ours causing destruction and death. David McCallum in “The Sixth Finger” about the results of an experiment to push humanity to evolve to the next level but how, in the process, we lose the essence of what makes us human.

“The Zanti Misfits” like remarkable of Stefano’s work provides a shapely allegory about human nature. We also procure “The Borderlands” and many other classic episodes mixed with claptrap like “Human Factor” but almost everything here is terrific even if we’re only getting half a season at a higher designate than before.

Why not include a commentary track from surviving actors or David J. Suchow the author on the definitive book on “The Outer Limits”? Because MGM is convinced that you’ll recall this situation and the second one coming out in August AND pay more in the process because they’ve split them up. Heck, the least they could have done was got rid of those unpleasant dual sided discs. Nope. These are dual sided as well.

So what do you derive? 16 episodes–half the first season of the series. In August you can collect the second half of the first season. I’m at a loss here–why release the valid same thing as before only in a different package? The only reason is so that retailers (such as Best Select) who return things after a minute shelf life will carry this again. If you’re going to do this at least give us some extras (a featurette on the visual effects, vintage interviews with the slack Joe Stefano or Leslie Stevens, commentary tracks with Suchow discussing the making of the episode.

The note deserves 5 stars but Sony/MGM deserves 0 stars for this reissue. Glean this instead. The Outer Limits - The Novel Series, Season 1

MGM splits the first season in half. You derive 2 double sided discs, same format as the first release. No extras. I can only grasp the episodes are NOT remastered. What is the point? Fair fans bought the first dwelling. Casual fans will probably look out their common episodes. What are the odds their favorites drop within the first 16 episodes?

Forest Whitaker gives us a nice taste of his slow the camera talents with his direction of this touching and romantic feel superb film. He has assembled a terrific cast including the charming Sandra Bullock,the irresistable Harry Connick Jr.,and the always astounding Gena Rowlands. Add to that a fable that will touch you with it’s character’s strength, humor and loving bonds of family by Steven Rogers, a soundtrack you’ll want to hear over and over and terrific photogrpahy and you’ve got yourself a substantial recipe for a savory movie shatter.

Birdie Pruitt(Bullock) was the sweetheart of her hometown, Smithville, Texas. She had it all..beauty queen, cheerleader,married to her high school sweetheart,a daughter who is the apple of her examine, and living the genuine life now in Chicago. But Birdie’s perfect life is about to unravel. After appearing on one of those afternoon talk shows for what she thinks will be a make-over, she is hit with the poor truth that her best friend and husband are having an affair.

Devasted, humiliated on national T.V., and feeling all is lost, she packs up herself and her daughter and beats a retreat aid to Smithville. The road attend to self-esteem is a long one for Birdie, as she shuts herself off from life and savor and must deal with readjusting to a unusual life.

Sandra Bullock will warm your heart as she learns to begin hers again. Harry Connick Jr. will sustain you smiling, as the childhood friend who has always loved her, and tries to breakdown Birdie’s walls. And Gena Rowlands is perfect as the mother who won’t let her child give up. Bernice, Birdie’s young daughter is played brillantly by the young Mae Whitman and will evoke a lump in your throat as the child of divorce. Lots of expansive music including songs by Sheryl Crow, Bryan Adams and a elegant rendition of “Smile” by Charles Chaplin, added to a fascinating salvage by Dave Grusin,are all objective the just touches to this heartwarming epic.

The DVD is an edifying presentation. The characterize in widescreen(1.85:1) is very grand with nice colors.The Sound in Dolby Dig 5.1 surrounds the room nicely.It may be viewed in French(stereo) and has subtitles in English and Spanish for those needing them. There are no other special features though.

If you’re in need of a shrimp pick-me-up, this is the film to do it. A feel wonderful movie that’s romantic, poignant and comic, will leave you appreciating all that you already have, and with a smile as well.

Shadow Skill is a astronomical series that I am delighted I invested in! To explain what I have seen on reviews for the Shadow Skill movie DVD, the T.V. series is available in the United States. I managed to fetch 3 of the six volumes in local stores. I am unsure if they are getting harder to score because of lack of sales, but it was certainly impossible to rep the others and thus brought me to Amazon. Was this series worth it? Oh heck yeah!

The account centers around a young female fighter having gained the title of champion set among her people. She and her younger brother, Gau, are warriors in constant training and honing of their abilities in the fighting style of Shadow Skill, a deadly martial art that can demolish with one blow. The jam is Elle has a knack for running up tabs at bars while being hilariously humorous at it in broad drunken fashion. Many of the adventures they soon win keen in are a result of them looking for jobs to pay their debts and support a region to live. I haven’t gotten through the whole anecdote yet but I can content it’s doing like all other Animes in a plain trusty commence to a mercurial paced action filled storyline!

The Anime style was a bit offsetting at first. It isn’t the magnificent clarity and visuals of Bulky Metal Alchemist or Ghost in the Shell, but it is very satisfactory nonetheless. The action sequences are well drawn out in which you can clearly search for each proceed the fighter throws out. Although one dinky annoying thing is the cutscenes into Japanese symbols with the English translation. Imagine Goku from DBZ doing a Spirit Bomb attack and it cuts to a dim cover with wording telling you the attack he’s doing. Yeah. Not needed. But it doesn’t point to up that often and can easily be tolerated.

The English voices assume some getting stale to at first. All the other characters have voices you would imagine superior with what you’re seeing. But with Elle and Gau, they seem a bit young in tone compared to what you contemplate and would quiz. But considering Elle and Gau are both in their teens it truly is fitting. That and when they derive inflamed, their voicing really shines and you can feel their rage. For those lively about the Japanese voices, they are perfect and I concept to leer the whol series in Japanese as well.

Shadow Skill is certainly worth a series to invest in whether by making it an addition to your Anime collection or you appreciate an action/comedy filled series. I certainly have no regrets and give it two thumbs Intention up!

In 1998, the television series SHADOW SKILL (produced by Studio Deen) was released in Japan based on the manga by Megumu Okada.

With 26-episodes in all, it’s finally coming to North America through ADV Films in November.

The series focuses on Elle Ragu, the 59th Sevalle a.k.a. Shadow Skill. The Seveall are feared because they are an elite breed of men and women who have mastered the martial arts. Alongside with her is her brother Gau and Faurink Maya who try to maintain her out of inconvenience and to not cause so considerable harm (because she is in so powerful debt and has a tendency to accept drunk a lot) .

Trying to bag exclusive jobs to pay off her debt and fabricate a living, with each day of recede, the heroes meet novel companions and also face deadly opponents in the kingdom of Karuda.

SHADOW SKILL is a fun, adventurous anime which combines addicting battles combined with an luscious storyline.

I found the characters for the series delectable and the action is balanced with the comedy and humor.

But the television series is not all about Elle, there appears to be some reason why the mysterious Scarface has taken an interest in Elle’s brother Gau. Why is that?

As for the DVD, SHADOW SKILL shares the same quality as many anime that were shown during the gradual 90’s.

Although, some sequences do demonstrate the usual television style type of video quality, on episodes such as episode Four, “What My Father Left Me”, there is a sequence where the color and animation style changes for some unknown reason.

As for audio, I was surprised that the English dub track was not in 5.1 and that both English and Japanese tracks are in 2.0. Also, there are no special features at all.

Now for those of you who are enthusiastic in the SHADOW SKILL series, I highly recommend watching the television series first and afterwards the OAV series.

The OAV version of SHADOW SKILLwas released by Manga Entertainment several years ago and compiled into a movie.

The OAV series (the movie version released in the US) takes region after the television series but focuses on a major change in the relationship between Elle and Gau. I’ll leave it at that.

But the English dub was not to my liking on Manga Entertainment’s release but fortunately you had the option to settle the Japanese track and you can’t go bad with with Megumi Hayashibara (Ranma 1/2, Slayers, Blue Seed, Video Girl Ai, etc.) doing the yelp acting for Elle.

Fortunately, the television series released by ADV Films has large content acting for both Japanese and English dub tracks.

Young Gau actually sounds like a teenage boy instead of a older man this time around and I was very glad with the squawk acting with the English dub track.

All in all, SHADOW SKILL is an delectable anime series. The characters are very captivating and each episode is luscious.

The anime gets high marks but with no special features and the lack of the usual ADV 5.1 English dub track, I was a bit surprised by that.

If you are a fan of anime such as Slayers, Inuyasha and Fushigi Yuugi, I definitely recommend checking out SHADOW SKILL.
